Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde (southwestern Colorado, in the Four Corners area) has the largest known collection of Anasazi Indian cliff dwellings. Built mostly in the early 1200's, a hundred years later these magnificant stone towns were abandoned, for reasons known only to their dwellers.
