A Rainy Day in Brussels

Brussels is not the best place to be in November. Still, I took the Eurotrain from London, bringing along just my tiny Stylus Epic. The negatives were scanned by Ritz onto a JPEG CD, and here are some samples.

Clicking on any of the thumbnails will bring up a larger (800x600) version of the same image, 150k or so in size.

Note of 2005: The Ritz scans of 1998 vintage stink to heaven; the technology was just being developed at that time. I hope to re-scan the negatives with a modern scanner "any time soon".

Grote Markt (The Grand Place) can be read like a book.
Hotel de Ville is probably the most impressive of European town hall buildings.
The sidewalk restaurants one block north of Grote Markt do not even close in Winter.
The art collection in the Museum of Ancient Art is very impressive (besides, it doesn't rain here). Here are three snapshots of one of my favorite paintings: Temptation of Saint Anthony by Bosch. (Stylus Epic, handheld, no flash, no slouch!)
